FAQ's
-What should I expect for my first session?
-Please come to the session about 15 min early with the paperwork filled to completion and read through the Before you come in page. You are welcome to tell me anything that you may have forgotten to write down or to make sure I know before the session begins.
-What should I wear?
-This is completely up to you! Depending on the type of work we are doing that day, you may be asked to undress to whatever you are comfortable with (leaving undergarments on is fine, however bra straps may affect fluidity of some types of massage). Sometimes it will be necessary to keep clothing on and for this reason it is encouraged that you wear loose fitting clothing to these sessions, which we can talk about during scheduling.
-Will the session hurt?
-Once again, this is up to you. I prefer my therapeutic sessions to not exceed an 8 on a 1-10 scale (1 being least pain/discomfort and 10 being most pain/discomfort). An 8 can be described by some as the point right before tensing the muscle or area that is being worked. Sometimes you will be asked to move, in which case I encourage breathing to allow better "opening" of tissue as well as communication to amount of discomfort felt.
-Let me know if you have other questions that you need answered by emailing me at ihmassagellc@gmail.com
